Around the Farm takes a quick look at some of yesterday’s performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday’s game.
Tim Fedroff (CF, Columbus): 3-for-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 SO
After tearing up the minors last year, 2013 represents a disappointment for Fedroff. Even after Wednesday’s strong performance the outfielder only owns a .265/.356/.347 line for the season and is severely lacking in power (.082 ISO). Columbus’ home park is pretty homer-friendly so it is a little surprising to see that this is only Fedroff’s fourth home run after he hit nine at this level in essentially the same amount of games in 2012. Still, it is possible that Fedroff is just slumping. He likely is not as good as he showed last year (.316/.394/.485), though he is also likely better than this. Meeting in the middle (which would be .291/.375/.416, for what its worth) gives Fedroff a profile that may be able to help the big league club, even if it is not overpowering.
